i am 16 am i wanted to know how old you needed to be to buy a visa prepaid card?also do you need your ss numberto get 1?and if you get 1 as a gift and you want to refill it can you do it yourself or the person who got it for you?

  1. There's no age restriction because they're pre-paid and not an extension of lender's credit. You can refill/reload the card yourself.

It all really depends on the prepaid credit card that you use.  Not all require the same requirements for instance not all are refillable so some are just one time fill only.  One thing you should know about prepaid cc is that some carry higher monthly fees than others so you might want to shop around and see which ones work best for you.  You can find Green Dot at your local stores like Rite Aid which are refillable.

  3. I am not absolutely sure on this but I think you can purchase one but you may need to be 18 or older to activate it.

  4. Banks, convenience stores, online and many places sell credit card brand gift cards, which are like what used to be prepaid credit cards without the fees. They have a Visa or Mastercard, etc. logo and can be used by anyone, anywhere. There is no age requirement to buy or use these. I give them to my nieces, nephews, etc. (as young as ten yrs old) all the time as gifts.
