me and my now husband started dating when I was 16, he proposed when I was 17, and we were married when I was barely 18. Its now been almost two years, and I am happier then I have ever been!

If you are old enough to legally get married, and you are ready, then go for it. No need to rush though right? Also, If there is any problems with the family, possibly saying your too young, dont risk your relationship with them! have an ADULT conversation with them, proving to them that you are an adult and capable of making your own decisions, otherwise, your digging your own grave, so to speak.

I think that life experience is as important.  I think people should know  how to compromise before marriage and how to think about people other than themselves (namely their fiance-to-be) and should realize that the world can be a pretty hard place where things go wrong but you make it through.  I think at least 23 before the actual wedding.  21 before getting engaged.

Age isn't quite as important as the amount of time in a relationship.

I think that people should be together at least a year, so that each person knows what the other is like.  You don't truly know a person whom you haven't been with for less than a year.

As for when to get married, the couple should at least be in their early twenties, and should be financially ready for marriage.  Each party should have a job or be almost finished with schooling.

Old enought to know that marriage is a commitment! You will have some bad day and some Good days. Old enought to know that a marriage does not involved yor friends and mother-in Laws! Age got nothing to do with it! I know people who has gotten married at the age of 18 and 19 and still together. I know people who has gotten married in their 40 and divorce withthin a Year!

It is knowing what the defintion of marriage is and know it means more then putting on a fantasty wedding!
