I raise pygmy goats and I usually sell around 10 wks. I have sold at 8 wks if there eating really good.

I've been raising meat goats since 1999.  I have about 100 goats.

Are you talking about a goat that can be taken away from its mother, and survive?

Some dairy goat folks wean as young as 8 weeks of age.  I find the kids have many more health problems if weaned that early.  If I bottle feed a goat, I feed them until they are 3 months of age.

Otherwise I leave the kids with their mothers, and find they are naturally weaned at about 4-5 months of age.  By the time they are three months old however, the doe is usually only allowing them to nurse for seconds.

I'm assuming you are not asking about sold for butcher.  However if you are, they can be very young.  I've had customers who want 4-6 week old milk fed kids (usually for a religious holiday).

Best if the kid is with its mother three months, before being sold.

Most breeds, 3 months is the recommended optimum age for weaning, then I would keep them for another couple weeks after that to make sure they are eating well on their own and gaining properly before allowing them to go to a new home.  Angora goats should be weaned later, at 4 months old.

Lets see... anywhere from 2-4 months..

Only sell them after 8 weeks.. unless the people will bottle feed them. (which unless they are bottle babies won't work) and if you sell them at 8 weeks. make sure they are eating hay/ grain  BOTH.. very well.. be sure to give them their shots before they go to their new home.. and de-worm them.. and do their hooves..

Mine are bottle raised... but i wean them at about 12 weeks.
