How old does a child have to be in Missouri to decide which parent to live with permanently

Want my child permanently. My ex and I split custody and one of our children would like to live with me permanently. How old before they are recognized by court to make that decision?

I feel for you.I'm almost waiting on the same thing. I think its 15 or 16 in most states.
