  1. I think it is different in each state. But if you know the name of the judge who approved the "custody" agreement, you could try just writing the judge a letter, and tell how and why you feel it is in your best interests to live with your mother.

You could also look in the phone book for your city's bar association. Call them, and they may be able to suggest a lawyer who will help you "pro bono," which means, you do not have to pay the lawyer.

  2. the adult would have to retain an attorney or schedule a hearing with a judge if according to the state law if theyre old enough to make that choice...

where im from the child has to b 13...so you would have to check with your state to see about the age

  3. You don't have to be any certain age to hire an attorney.  You just need the money.

  4. If I am not mistaken, the child can be 12 and decide where they want to be.

  5. When children reach the age of 14-15..they have more of a say in court to where they want to live

  6. A child can be heard by the family court judge that handled her custody case... in most states, the judge will hear a 12 year old, and will allow a 14 year old to decide where they want to stay without question.

Check the laws of your state.

The kid just needs an appointment with the judge, but does not need an attorney.
