Hi,

It depends on the colour as if its a lutino or albino or pied then you can't visually s*x them. If however it is a grey then its normally about a year or so.

If you want to s*x your parakeet then there is a more reliable way and you have to hold your parakeet, tip it on its back and then place a finger or thumb just above the vent, the press down gently until you feel two bones, if the bones are almost touching then its a boy and if they are far apart then its a hen to allow the eggs to pass through.
