How old does this child sound according to this description? The more answers, the better!?

Question

-cannot read, write or do math

-can count up to 20

-only recognizes a few letters of the alphabet

-can spell name(very messy, backwards letters)

-has a very hard time keeping still and quiet when in public

-will cry to get things when in public

-cannot correctly pronounce 70% of spoken words

-must be told at least 3 times to do simple tasks such as flushing a toilet or picking up a plate.

Not soo concerned about the age but see signs of other problem  If this child is 5, then there's a problem which needs to be diagnosed.  If this child is 2 or 3 then this is most likely normal mental growth.  Not understanding simple tasks is what triggers me.

As a substitute teacher, it sounds like a kindergarten student on the first day of class. by the time the school year is over, the majority of the students can do all of the items you listed above.

I would think a 3 year old who can do all these things is very smart :-)

I would think a 5 year old who does this is about ready to learn more.

If a kid is over 6 years old and still can't do this stuff - I would think that they have some kind of learning disability and need extra attention.
