It is unkown how old he is I guess, but this is his profile, and his real name is Atom Tetsuwan.

Astroboy (or Tetsuwan Atomu ("Mighty Atom") as he is known in Japan) first saw the light of day in late 1951 or early 1952 (accounts differ, even in a single wikipedia article), when he was first featured in a manga serial; either way the character will soon by 57. The first made-for-Japanese-television program featuring Astroboy began in 1963 and is often credited as being the first Japanese cartoon that qualifies as a true anime ("anime" obviously as it is meant in America, not in Japan where any cartoon from any nation is known as an anime).

As a robot, Astroboy doesn't have a birthday but his date of manufacture could probably be used instead of a birth date. However, Astroboy lives in an era set sometime in the future, when robots mix freely with humans so issues of his age become cloudy. Astroboy doesn't age like a human so it is hard to say if his fifty six years of existence make him like a 56 year old human. He was built in the image of his inventor's deceased son, and does not age or grow so it could also be said that Astroboy is ten years old and has been for fifty six years.

the series was made in the 60's and was 1 of the 1st anime's ever released in america, if i remember correctly astro boy was about 10.

(and now i am not that old. my grandparents were still young in the 60's. i actually did a school report on the history of anime and manga, and there was a remake in the late 90's and early 2000's.)
