  1. it can be easily solved if its sorted at IAS officers , Chief secreteries, and a few smart prominent people like N ram, narayan murthy , ex presidents like  kalam and some refined politions and governers like SM kRISHNA and AK Antony etc  level with out involving polititions and activists..

depending on the population ratio of each state pondicherry tamil nadu karnataka and kerala the cauvery water need to be split..

so i think the ration will be 42: 32: 20:6 between tamilnadu, karnataka, kerala and pondicherry . and not on the basis of MP s in Delhi

kerala now is getting 2 buckets of water from cavery every day

  2. I think no problem is beyond solution. But, the politicians have complicated the problem and poisoned the mind of the people in Karnataka. When I say this, I am consious of the fact that the people of the State of Karanatak are the most peace loving in the country and I say this with my experience in having lived in their midst for about three yeasrs. I agree that they carry a sense grievance against the people of TN for despite theirs being the the place of origin of the River Cauvery, for centuries they have been prevented from drawing water from it. They now call  all the previous river water agreements as one sided anad therefore not bindging on them. Now, the people of TN are the chastened lot; there is no longer any monopolistic and hegemonist tendency on their part. Consider the lot of the farmers. The delta region in Thanjavur used to thrive on the waters of Cauvery. Unlike other South Indian States, Cauvery is the only life line for them. The extreme stand of the Karnataka that they have the priorty over the Cauvery water and only after their needs are fulfilled, others can have any legitimate demand on its water, has terribly hurt the farmers in the Tanjore region. TN, once a surplus state in Rice, depends on the neighbnouring AP, for its needs. For the past 30 years, farmers in this region have been reduced to penury and indebntedness. Hence, I am of the view that the people should not fall prey to the chauvinstic elements in their respective States. In TN, people from the film industry and  all and sundry have been allowed to say unwasrranted things, thus inflaming the passions. Saners elements should counsel for peace and patience. To object to drinking water project by the Karnataka polciticians is the height of parochialism and petty politicking. I am personally grieved not because of the objection but because of the manner of protest. The lives of innocent and the hapless are always at risk, in such riots and arsoning. I am disappointed with the cheap politics in this matter.

  3. it will exist as long as corrupt and power hungry politicians exist in this country
