How old is the leaning tower of Pisa?

Ok so on the 9th of august 1173 the construction of the leaning tower of Pisa began but how old does that make the tower sorry i can't be bothered to do the maths so i hope someone can help thanks :D

  4. People are not getting taught basic Math anymore?  Simple subtraction ( which takes all of 3 seconds) would give you 835 yrs old....Buildings are always dated from the date of the start of construction.
