  1. It is not an age issue, it is a physical fitness issue.  At my academy we recently graduated a 60 year old rookie.  He did 30 years in the military, went into civilian employment for a while, then wanted to pursue his life long desire.  He is doing just fine.

  2. Unless there is a local or state limit, I would think it is when one is in the Academy and the only thing you hear in your head is Danny Glover as Sgt Murgtah in Leathal Weapon, "I'm too old for this S**t!"

  3. 21 or 18 yoa with 2 years active military service and honorable discharge.

  4. 3rd times a charm??  Check with local agencies and state laws

  5. It may differ on the academy of which you go to. There is an age limit;  usually 37 is the oldest you can be to enter into the academy.

  6. 50 or 60.

  7. Many police departments do not have an age limit. Some do. As just one example, you cannot have reached your 40th birthday before being appointed as a cadet with the Pennsylvania State Police. Visit the websites of the departments you are interested in. If age requirements are not listed, simply call the department and ask them.
