How old is too old for a kid/teen to sit on their parents lap?

Is it wrong for a 12-13 year old girl to sit on her fathers lap? How old is too old for a teen/kid to sit on their parents lap? Are they ever to old?

well i dont sit on my dads lap all the time, but if theres no seats i'l go and sit on him haha, on his knees.

If you have a close, loving relationship with your father than you will never be too old to sit on his lap.  My daughter is 12 yrs old and adores her daddy-I would never discourage them from cuddling or hugging each other.

I am 23 years old and i sit on my fathers lap sometimes.  If i am goofing around or giving him kisses.  Its only wrong if people make something out of nothing.  As long as theres nothing inappropriate going on whats the big deal?

well i dont sit on my fahters lap cause him and i dont get along all the time. But i am 19 have a daughter and i still sit on my mommys lap.

As for a 12-13 year old sitting on her daddys lap what is wong with that? It is her father and thier is nothing wrong with bonding at that age let alone any age. As long as you dont feel thier is something other than daddy daughter time going on then i would not be worried.

Ha. I'm around your age xD. I always sit on my dad's lap. Even if there are a ton of chair around. He doesn't mind, and I don't think I'll ever get out of the habit xD. A lot of people tell me I'm too old to do that, but I say I don't care. I don't think love should be restricted by age. But of course, if he looks tired or worn out, I try and be considerate and sit somewhere else =D

By the time I was 12, I was over 5 feet tall and quite the lanky kid so I think my Daddy would have been uncomfortable with me sitting on his lap at that age and size.  I would still sit on my mom's lap (mostly to be cutesy) even when I was 19, though.  There's the issue of appropriateness to consider, though, and no one would want to give the wrong impression of what their relationship is with their parent/child!

If a father has a very affectionate relationship with his kids and always has, I don't see anything wrong with it.  For me, my dad is not affectionate.  For me to sit on his lap would be really weird at any age past 5!  It just depends on the parents... some people are more lovie-dovie and there isn't a thing wrong with that!

Yes, I think that is a bit old. I used to date a guy whose sister sat on her father's lap and would throw her arms around him like she was a little 6 year old. It really freaked me out. I think around 10 years old you need to let them know they are getting a little too old for certain things.
