Actually I have two question's in one. Can a male dog that is 13 years old still be able to produce or even breed a female dog? Also when a female is breed by 2 or more different male dogs will the puppies be mixed or will they have just the blood from their father and of course the mother?

  1. Although a 13 year old dog is capable of producing pups..  he really shouldnt be bred.  The quality of the sperm declines with age, and its more likely for him to produce pups with genetic disorders.

If a female is bred by 2 or more males during a heat cycle..  then each pup can have a different father.  They wont be "mixed".. as the egg will only accept ONE sperm.  You would have to do a DNA test on each pup to figure out which ones were sired by which male.

  2. It is possible for a 13 year old to have viable sperm, unlikely, but possible.  I have heard of a 20 year old chihuahua that did the deed, and he was neutered.

    second question:

The egg will accept only one sperm, so only one father.  Now the litter could have different fathers.  Even in humans, fraternal twins 'can' have different fathers.  (two eggs, two sperm).

  3. Okay, you only deserve one answer.  You know nothing about breeding because if you did you would not be asking these questions.  Anyone who lets their female breed with more than one dog is an idiot and putting the female's life in danger.  Get the dog fixed

  4. Yes he CAN produce pups, but it's not recommended to breed dogs that old.  And it is possible for a litter to have more than one father.

Why not just spay the female and be done with it?
