  1. I believe it's early 40's...if you have already been in the service and had an honorable discharge, it can be older especially in times of war. I think my uncle has been in and out and in again and he's in his late 40's.

  2. Too old is when the recruiter tells you that you're too old.  That won't happen in your early 30s.

  3. You can join up to age 42

  4. If you're physically fit enough to handle the boot camp, go for it

  5. as long as you are fit,i think you can take up a post in the officer category

  6. The only service you're too old for is active/reserve marine corps

  7. Active Army - 42

Army Reserves (Including National Guard) - 42

    Active Air Force - 27

Air Force Reserve (inlcuding National Guard) - 34

    Active Navy - 34

    Naval Reserves - 39

    Active Marines - 28

    Marine Corps Reserve - 29

Active Duty Coast Guard - Age 27. Note: up to age 32 for those selected to attend A-school directly upon enlistment (this is mostly for prior service).

Coast Guard Reserves - Age 39.

Prior Service gets a bit of a break, but that doesn't apply to you.

  8. You are also not too old for Infantry......my husband is an Infantry soldier and there are plenty of new soldiers in his unit that are older than you.

  9. Not too old for the 'officer core', but too old for 'infantry'. Basically, they can employ you with seniority based on relevant professional skills (college degree).

  10. no, it's not too old. you should have a pretty easy time with it right now since military is stretched all over the globe and recruiting numbers are somewhat down at the moment. having a college degree will be a help also if you are trying to get into a certain field (ie chaplain, etc)

    good luck!!!!
