  1. well i am sure i will get a lot of people mad at me but yes i think 40 is too old to have a baby.  my husband and i have been married 6 years and we are on number 2, first born just turned a year old, and i can't imagine having a baby after the age of 30.  yes with fertility treatments these days it is possible to conceive much later in life but i am of the opinion that nature knew what it was doing,  your fertility starts to decline pretty rapidly at 35, as well as an increased risk of birth defects like downs syndrome.  i think that is natures way of trying to tell us that by and large, we shouldn't be waiting that long to have babies.  i think responsible parents of any age are good parents, though i can't help but question the women getting pregnant in their 50's and 60's.  in my opinion they are being selfish, they aren't thinking about the fact that they will be in their 70's or 80's when that child is really ready to be on their own, if they even live that long.

  2. well I know some older parents- and they are great!!!- then i know ome older ones who arent as patient as before...and dontl ike playing with there child...and also JUST feed them veggies-

but it all depends on personality im guessin.

  3. Everyone is different.  If you feel that you can handle a little active child around the house at 40 or 42 when they are toddlers, then by all means go for it! BUT, if you think by the time you are 57 you aren't going to want to deal with a teenager... That is something you are going to have to think about.  No one can say what is too old for someone else.  If your body is still able to make babies, than I guess really you aren't too old, right?  As long as you are willing to be in it for the long haul (18 years etc)...

  4. Any age is a good age if there is someone loving and caring in the house.

How many of us are being raised by our grandparents these days?  Lots and lots.  These grandparents are too old to conceive babies, but often they are better parents than the biological parents could ever be.  They are wise and experienced, and love those children like their own.

I don't think you can put an age on it.  You have to consider the love and security and attitude involved.  That's what makes a good parent.

  5. 40. i think its way too old. just think about it when they are 58 the kid will just be graduating.

  6. 47..

  7. id say 50 is too old

  8. If you take care of yourself anywhere from 42-47

  9. My neighbor was 47 when she had her one and only child..and I wouldnt say an older parent is a better parent at all...age dont make a person and how well the will treat thier kids

  10. 45

  11. I was 38 when I had my last child, my mother was in her mid 40s when she had my youngest sister.  I have an aunt who was 50 when she had her first and only child.  Being a good parent has nothing to do with age.

  12. I'm a male and my son was born when I was 41. I think being older enables you to enforce limits better. I wasn't strict until he got close to the limits, and he knew. I didn't have to be mean daddy, because the lines were carefully marked. The only downside is I'm thinking about both retirement and college; two big financial events.

  13. no 40 isn't , it really isn't any of my business as is anything other ppl do in life I think older is better than a younger one but than again that is not my buisness.
