  1. To buy alcohol in the UK and/or drink it you have to be 18.

Shops have to ask for ID if you are trying to buy alcohol and look under 21. Once ID is shown that proves you are over 18 the alcohol can be purchased.

Some pubs/bars can deny entry to people under certain ages. For example, a pub near me is called Infernos and is 25s + only.

  5. It varies.. from country to country.

In the UK  and Italy it is 5-14 years old.

In France, Spain and Portugal it is 16 years old.

In Germany and Austria it is 16-18 years old.

In Ireland, Sweden.. and some other places in eastern Europe it is 18 years old.

However, it is required that you are of a different age to purchase alcohol in the countries.

In the UK, Ireland, and various eastern countries it is 18 years old.

In France, Portugal, Spain it is 16 years old.

In Germany and Austria it is 16 or 18 years old.

In Sweden, Denmark it is 18 or 20 years old.
