How old should I wait to have a child?

I wanted some opions on age limits to having children.

Should I wait late 20s or 30s?

late 20's cause then you won't be as old as your kids.

Whatever the age is when you are stable and ready!  I hope to have a child by the time I'm in my late 20's or early 30's.  But again it's all about timing.

When you are done doing all the things you want to do own your own. When you have money to raise a child and when you are ready to give the next 18 years of your life for someone other than yourself.

Your body is physically better able to handle a pregnancy when you're in your 20's than in your teens; waiting until your late 30's can mean more difficulty getting pregnant at all and drastically raises the odds of a baby's having Down syndrome.

That said, the first answer is right -- you need to be emotionally able to focus your life on someone else for 18 years.

I always thought I would wait till I was 29 but I will be 26 when I have my first.  I am 25 right now.  I am really happy I will be a young mom but not too young.  I had my fun I have done my moving around I'm ready for that next part of my life.  

I think 24 and older is good.  Anything younger then that and you are missing out on your own life.  You have to be done with being selfish and having your own fun. You have to be ready its way more responsibility then a dog.

depends if you want to enjoy life without a child for a little bit. if you want to have fun 23 or over if you want a child reeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaalllly badly early 20 or 21. thats advice, you could have one when your settled in with a boyfriend/hubsand.

I'm going to have to agree with the first poster....once a child is in the picture everything changes.
