    ]

    3. 14 yrs old or older

    5. 2yrs old

6.usually by 4 yrs old and then it requires supervision

    7. by the time they are 6 they should be able to wash themselves with u helping with their hair

    8. by the time they are 13 yrs old

    9. 14 yrs old

    10. 10 yrs old

  3. 1 - The day they come home from the hospital.  OK, actually I kept my kids in the room with me for the first month or two to make late night nursing an easier process for me, but they spent their nap times in their rooms to get acustomed to it before the big switch.

2 - When they can safely move food from the plate to mouth.  Start with soft finger foods, of course.  Usually around the one year mark.

3 - In my province, no child can be legally home alone before age 10.  Check the laws in your area.  But it also depends on the maturity and security of the child.

4 - Another legal/maturity thing.  Around 14 for most workplaces.  But there are junior jobs (paper rout, babysitting) that can be done by younger kids.

5 - That's a tough one!  Some people believe in the diaperless baby (google it - there's lots of info out there) whereas some parents have difficulty getting their four year olds to use the tiolet.

6 - As soon as they can manipulte the brush they can start helping to brush their own teeth

7 - Supervised or not?  Only the parent can determine if a child can wash properly without assistance.

8 - In most areas in North America, you can not legally get behind the wheel of a car until your are 16.

9 - Another legal / mature thing here.  Not before 12 in my area.

10 - If you provide pre-packaged healthy choices (IE a baggie of carrot sticks, small containers of yogurt, diced cheese) your child can choose which to pack as early as kindergarten.  It's a great way to foster indepenance AND to ensure the lunch will actually go into the child's stomach and not the garbage.  A child will have more desire to eat something (s)he's had a hand in preparing.

    5. 2 to 5 (all kids are different)

    6. 3

    7. Maybe 6 or 7

    8. Depends on state laws. I was 15 when I began learning. In my state, you can't get a learner's permit until you're 16.

    10. Probably 8 or so

3.That one is iffy- I know 16 year olds that I wouldn't trust by themselves

4.As soon as they are responsible enough

    7. My daughter did at 5

    8. When they are legally allowed.

    9. When they are responsible enough- every kid is different

    10. When you can trust that it won't be all junk.

Basically, every kid is different so, you can't really answer these questions definitively. Go with your gut.

  15. 1.When they start sleeping in their own room- when they can sleep through the night alone.

2.When they eat meals by themselves--no feeding- 18 months? just a guess

    6.To brush their own teeth?-2

    7.to take a shower/bath by themselves?-4

8.To start learning to drive-14 and 9 monhs (age for drivers training.)

    9. To Babysit- 13

    10. Pack their own lunch to scho0l-7 if they know to pack healthy things

  16. 1. From birth, if baby is willing and it's parent's preference.

    2. Usually 8-10 months is a good time to start finger/self-feeding.

    3. Depends on the situation, the child  and the  time-frame.  For very brief periods, probably 8-9 years.  For longer stretches,  teen years.

    4. Paid job?  Legally they have to be 16 in most states.

    5. Depends on the kid. Most train between 2 and 4 years.

    6. Completely independent, 4-5 years. With minimal help, 2-3 years.

    7. Again, depends on the definition. My daughter was bathing herself (with minimal help with hair washing, and me just a few steps away) at 3 or 4.  She wasn't taking her own showers for another few years.

    8. 16 yeras.

    9.  Depends on the kid.  I was babysitting at 12.

    10. Whenever he wants to.

  17. 1. 1 year, tops.

    2. 2.

    3. It depends on their maturity level. Where I live the legal age is 12, but if your child acts like an immature idiot at 12, you are obviously not going to let them stay home alone, am I right?

    4. Again with the maturity level. And the legal age in your area.

    5. 3? I'm unsure about that one.

    6. When they are able to learn.

    7. When they can learn.

    8. 14. I know parents are against it, but they have to realize their children are going to do it anyways, might as well try to help them and know you (the parent) did their best.

    9. Again with the maturity level, and the legal age in your area.

    10. 10. Its packing a lunch. Not too hard. Get bread, get lunch meat, mustard maybe, get some snacks. Its not rocket science.
