What if like a 11 or 13 year old girl held there fathers hand while out? Not to keep away from danger but just to hold it. Is that wierd or wrong?

  1. Well it should stop around 10 or 11, it actually depends on how old the kid looks.

  2. thatsss a littleee abnormal.

    but maybeee they aree clingy.

  3. That's never weird or wrong, its sweet and shows that they not only unconditionally love one another that they don't have a problem expressing it.

  4. Well it just depends on the childs street smarts. If the child knows what to do if someone tries talking to them or taking them, then I may not make the child hold hands. But if the child seems like they would bottle up in a bad situation, then yes, holding hands is great. Just make sure that they know what to do in that type of situation.

  5. Never,

  6. no, haha, i still hold my mom's hand i'm 19 but that's just to get her going she gets more embarrassed than i ever could be.

  7. No. People may think the dad is a pervert or something if the girl is tall, but it's a nice, familial gesture.

  8. My child will NEVER be too old to hold my hand.  Now the 'child' may be embarrassed but in my opinion there is no age limit.  There is also no age limit of kissing your child all over their face.  Besides they LOVE it... even if they say they don't.  :-D

  9. I'm 34 and hold my dad's hand at the mall. Hey, I love him just as much now as when I was three.

Kids should never be ashamed of their parents. It's too bad that society fills their heads with that nonsense.

  10. There's nothing wrong with that.  It's a closeness thing.  There is absolutely nothing wrong or weird about a strong bond between a parent and their child.

Holding hands is in no way sexual.  People are such prudes in this country I swear.  When I lived in Europe friends and family members walked around holding hands all the time!  It's just a sign of love and friendship and a good bond between the people.

There's nothing wrong with it.  Some people take the whole you can't touch your kids past age 7 c**p way too seriously.  Personally, I used to ride on my dad's back every once in awhile until I was around 11.  He would pick me up and swing me around.  There was nothing sexual about it, just fatherly affection.

  11. you know what I say WHO CARES he is your dad you are here because of him. s***w what people say. Thats what I think. do it dont matter

  12. my sons  and i hold hands all the time he is 20 and the other is 13 its a gentle sign of affection nothing perverted its just what we do. 20 yr old is in college so when home we just hold hands and talk

  13. Why would that be weird or wrong. It's their father. Personally I wish I could still hold my dads hand and I'm way older than 13. I don't think you'll ever be too old. You'll always be daddy's lil girl.

  14. no id say that seeing perverted is a distorted view, but no father should obligate an adolescent to hold their hands

  15. 12 yrs old

  16. My daughter is 11 and still likes to hold my hand occasionally.

Personally i am thrilled, hopefully we will bypass the "I didn't ask to be born" phase, LOL!

  17. no they can hold hands until death do them part lol.

  18. no i dont think it's weird, i'm 13 and i sometimes hold my mom's hand. it's not wrong, people r just perverted

  19. Nothing wrong with that.  It is good that you feel safe with your parents.  Not all kids have parents like that.

  20. will you hold my hand

  21. i dont know, ive never seen anyone hold their parents hand in enjoyment. ive only seen parents grab their 3 year olds hand and yank them to wear they wanna go.

  22. If she wants to, let her. I did at that age. My 10 yr. old still holds my hand and her Daddy's.

  23. it usually stops around 6, 7, 8.  I stopped at 5-6ish.  if anything a 11 or 13 year old can link arms with the father.  it just shows that they're close.  as long as they look like they're related

  24. That is fine.  There is no certain age, that is sweet she is still daddy's little girl!!

  25. No it's not weird. He is her Dad and she just wants to hold his hand. I am 25 years old and I'll still hold my Mom's hand. Nothing wrong with it. There is not age to stop holding your parents hands.

  26. my twins are 11 and sometimes they still hold hands.  THEY grab hands,,,not that we force them too.  it is a comfort thing for them i think.  they do it more in "strange" places.  why does everyone think that a daughter holding her daddy's hand is WIERD????? i am so tired of everything being labeled as wierd or wrong.

  27. I don't think there is a certain age for that, I think it is just up the kid and when they just don't want to hold hands anymore.

And no its not weird, its just that they both just want to keep holding hands! I completely support that, I think it shows the closeness of the family! ^_^

  28. I am 49 and mom is 70 we held hands today while shopping

  29. i just turned 42  on thursday and when i am out shopping with my mom i hold her arm   also my 13 year old daughter still holds my hand   i think it just shows how close we are

  30. Thats both weird and wrong. I'm fourteen and my dad or mom hasnt done that since I was like 7. My mom does it jokingly , but nothing more.

  31. Absolutely not! And to keep safe it's a question of maturity, not age.
