  1. Check with your local police first if you plan on riding it in the roadway. I know that my city has a law against them, the state views them as a motor vehicle and requires a driver's license to operate on the roads.  Do some research about it first.

  2. I have a friend who got on at 12 or 13 and he's still alive - if you have good enough balance and know how to use it you'll probably be fine

  3. no

  4. Just NO.  Try to convince your mom and dad that you need a motorized, electric bicycle.

Then the limitations on range and speed sound like advantages, right?  There is one, listed on amazon, that sells for $400, by Currie Enterprises.  It can go under its own power, around 8 miles, and with a second powerpack can turn around and come back.  12 miles an hour if you do not pedal, but you can pedal either for longer distance or to help out on a steep hill.  Now is not a good time to ask about a gasoline toy, I think. But electric, ought to be about 5 cents. Cut your losses, stick with what you can actually get.

  5. Legally yes, but never in the road. 16 and up is the industry recommendation.
