How old should you be to go into a store & buy a pop??

Question

I let my daughter (thats 7) go into the store and buy a pop for the first time about a month ago. Her Grandma thinks that I am crazy. I am setting in the car in front of the store. She had been bugging me about t*t and then we happen to go tot the store and it was dead and I told her that she could go in and get a pop if she felt comfortable. She is so excited about it and wants to everyday!! Is she too young??

well grandparents are that way. im 15 and my grandma put me on a leash when i was 10 to go grocery shopping. i think that as long as your daughter knows not to talk to strangers, a little bit about money and is comfortable with it than its fine.

no absolutely not. its making her happy. shes young, and she won't be young forever, so let her enjoy it while it lasts.

just keep her safe.. thats your responsibility. watch her as she buys the pop.

is she buying the pop from a machine or from a cashier?

just some advice, if she is buying from a cashier, make sure he or she doesn't rip her off. i've seen it happen. she is young, and can easily have money taken from her (cashier may charge her more for the pop than usual..)

so give her the exact amount of money instead of a 5 dollar bill or something.

I don't think she is too young. I am a mother of 6 and they all probably did that by themselves at age seven.

No? You're right there, and it gives her a feeling of responsibility and importance. It's adorable.

Well, first of all, I don't think there's any problem if you're just sitting outside.  Just make sure she doesn't buy too much pop because it causes cavities and obesity!!

Basically, as long as you know your daughter is safe, you'll be alright.
