I'm going to take this as a serious question...you have to turn 16 within the year of the Olympics you are participating in.

In gymnastics you have to turn 16  during the calendar year of the Olympics.  Not all sports have an age restriction and those that do have different rules.

16 but you are allowed to be 15 as long as you 16 during the Olympic season.  And I know you are referring to the Chinese team who all look 6 and 7.  They do look really young.
