How old to operate a trolling motor on boat?

This is a dumb question but i really dont know.

it depends if its a have a foot pedal or a regular clamp on one to like a jon boat .the regular one you just twist i and thats it .on a foot pedal you just press down the button and thats what makes that one work.

I would think that if you're a dad or uncle and thinking about taking your son or nephew, I think as young as 12 is okay. Hope this helps. Tight lines!! :D
