How old to teach swimming lessons to young kids?

i need a summer job i know a swimming pool i just dont know what age i have to be for like kids 4,5,6

Well you need to be certified as a lifeguard. But the average age is around 16 or older (though I know a 15 year old that teaches swim too). It's a huge responsibility though so if you think your not old enough then you probably aren't.

It really depends on where you are teaching, how much experience you've had with swimming, and how much experience you've had learning to teach. If you want to teach lessons at a pool, you'll probably have to ask the pool what is required of you. You'll probably also need to fill out paperwork and such for insurance purposes.

Even though lifeguarding certification is not required, it is recommended. Water safety is not an area to cut corners.

well im a usa swimmer which is considered rlly good and like i coach and im only 13 but like ive been swimming competitively for like 7 or 8 years so yeah i think it all depends on the person. good luck!

Hi, you have to be 16 as that is the age that u have to be to take the Level 2 STA - Beginners course or the ASA course, although u do not need to be a qualified lifeguard to become a swimming teacher you will not get your cerificate until you are so it's better to do both. It isn't really a summer job kind of thing, you need experience and things so its more of an after-school/work job so up to you.
