How old to you have to be to adopt in kansas?

well me and my friends called a priest of something and said that we had to move to another house a mile away but were HAPPY about that... but we all are considering adopting a little kid? because we looked at the house a mile away and we all said its big enough for two more and soo.. we all said yea we should get atleast two more kids then having it natural.. im 18 and i really wanna adopt a little kid.. :)

Adopting an American child is a very difficult process.  The state of Kansas will look very carefully into all aspects of your life including, but not limited to:

Year you graduated from high school and your GPA.

If you are married

Your age

Your spouse's age

If you own your house

If you have any children of your own

Your annual income

If you have a criminal record of ANY kind

They will look into your DMV record and verify that you don't have too many tickets.

There are dozens of hoops you have to jump through,  but the main ones are : Owning property,  Marriage, Set annual income.

Go talk to a lawyer near you about adoption law.  Not a priest,  they don't know enough to really be of help in that Field.

Maybe you should join BigBrothers/BigSisters of America and be a mentor to a child. Or get foster kids.  That will give you a chance to decide if you are really ready to be a mom.

i'm not sure of the lagalities of it, but it doesn't sound like you are a candidate just yet...

adoption is not something you get together with a friend or two while you are roomates and decide to do, it is a lifelong commitment to become a parent.

It also takes a lot of money, patients and paperwork to adopt...

better get a puppy!
