How old was your baby on his/her first haircut?

Question

my first one was 15 months...... I have a 12 month old now and his hair is getting long and curly in the back and over his ears. His dad keeps threatening to cut it, but it's just so cute.

I kind of want to go his hair really long....... Would you grow your son's hair long like a shag? kind of like zac effron or zac and cody......? My seven year old is trying to grow is out too like that.

My son will be 3 next month and he's been getting haircuts since he was 4 months old. He was premature but born with a TON of hair and by 4 months it was about 5 inches long in some places so much needed. He's had spikey hair or a faux hawk his entire life. He's gotten to where he wants his "po-hawk" now..

At my daughter's gymnastics there is a baby boy who has hair very similar to Zac's and on him it's just adorable!!

My son is 6 months old and already needs his hair cut.  He was born with a lot of it, and his bangs are getting so long they are almost in his eyes.  I brush them to the side so they are not in his face because I don't want to cut it yet.  I don't want it to get long, though.  I don't like the way long hair looks on boys.

You should decide what hairstyle you want your child to have and then you will know when he will need a haircut.  One of my nieces didn't get a haircut until she was 4!   Her hair is bright red and super curly.  For her first haircut, she only had 1/4 an inch cut off!  You couldn't tell.  But she was very proud of her haircut.  On the other side of the coin, her younger sister has been getting her haircut since she was a year old.

As far as an age, it really depends on the child's hair.   I started cutting my oldest son's hair when he was 11 months old because he had terrible fuzzy hair that did not look good long.  My sister started cutting her daughter's hair at 4 months because it was in her eyes and annoying her.  My youngest son is now 8 months old and has gorgeous thick black hair that is starting to curl.  I am not planning on cutting it until he is at least 2, provided that it looks cute on him.  I think little boys with long locks look adorable.  Your 7 year old should definitely be allowed to give it a try...after all, it is the style right now. I have a "baby brother" who is 9.  He tried it for a few months, but couldn't stand havign to wash and comb it so now his hair is short again.

I WISH I HAD LET EMBRA'S HAIR GROW!!!! WWHHAAAHHHHHH!!!! I saw this little boy in the store the other day and his hair was so curly and long... it was too cute and it reminded me not to cut Ezra's hair so early. I cut Embra's @ a year and it was soooooo curly and cute :(!!!!!!
