Question:

How old was your baby when they first smiled?

Also how soon after that did they start to laugh/ get ticklish etc?

  1. During my 5 day stay in the hospital she smiled. It probably was gas but we got a smile a couple of times. She starting giggling around 3 months. It's so darn cute!


  2. My nephew gave his first big smile when he was about maybe 1 month old. My sis in law said he laughed at a little over 2 months but i wasnt there to witness it   :-(

  3. my son is avram grant and he never smile the guy never smiles even when i batter him... the prick got sacked from chelsea and i could not stop lauging

  4. my son started his on purpose social smiles at 2 months...he just gave his first giggle at 3 months and is so ticklish on his feet!

My little boy was smiling within his first few weeks and i know it was proper smiles rather than trapped wind, you can always tell a proper smile because their face will light up and you'll see it in their eyes. My son will always smile for me first thing in the morning when i get him out of bed, it's so lovely, he's now 6 weeks and is always smiling and cooing, it's like he's trying to talk to me. He's shown signs of being ticklish from 5 weeks, in his hips and under his chin but he hasn't quite managed to laugh properly, he just does a strange chuckle.

    But she was about 1 and a half months when she did them properly all the time.

    She started to laugh when she was 3 and a half months old. This was around the time when she started to get ticklish as well

  10. About 2 months old. They'll get little smiles on their faces earlier than that but aren't intentional. They're easily amused by 2 months. My son was and I could make faces or play peek-a-boo and he'd be all grins. ;)

  11. About 2 1/2 months, but my little man was a preemie and sometimes preemies hit milestones later than fullterm babies.  He started laughing about a week after he started smiling.

  14. good question my son was like 2 months when the real smiles started and 3 months when he would smile really big and about 3 months when he chuckled!! he is tickalish on his chest lol

  17. all babies are different. my first born smiled at 6 weeks. my second two kids about 1 month. my new baby started smiling at 8 weeks. he's been making happy noises for about two weeks now. he is 12 weeks old.
