  1. Hum, let's see - they were 18 months and 23 months.  And sometimes they still wake up because they can't find their comfy or they see something at night.

  2. Both my girls were about 3 months (and breastfed)

That's not very typical though, lol.  I have a high supply and fast let-down of milk, so I think they may get more in a feeding than other babies do, and stay full longer.  Even during the day, they dont eat as frequently as I hear other breastfed babies do.  Or maybe they just take after their daddy's ability to sleep like a log.  Or maybe a combo of those two factors, lol.

If you keep your baby in your room, or even in your bed with you, feedings are much easier (if you're nursing, that is!)  The newborn days of frequent feedings were never very difficult for us, because I'd just nurse her while laying down and go back to sleep!  Some people worry about rolling onto their babies, but if you've got enough instinct to not roll out of bed, you've got enough instinct to not roll onto your baby!  (unless of course you're on medications, drinking, doing anything that alters how you sleep)

Best of luck with your new little blessing!

  3. my son slept from 9pm-5am at first now he is 3 months and just started sleeping from 9pm-7:30. he's a good boy :)

  4. Sleep patterns change so much for the first 24 months of life, but mine had her first night of sleeping from 11pm-7am when she was 2 months old. Although she does still switch back and forth between 5 hrs straight, wake up for 20 minutes to eat, and then back to sleep for another 3-5 hours OR sleeping from 10PM-6AM. It all really depends, and there is no way for us to predict what kind of night she'll have.

  5. I had massive problems with getting my 3 month old son to sleep.  He would just lie awake and cry for hours, then when he finally went to sleep he would wake every hour or two hours through the night and cry again!  Talk about pulling our hair out .... we were absolutely desperate for sleep!

It was a baby sleep audio program recommended by a friend that finally saved us. We followed the advice and began by creating a baby sleep routine which included bathtime, dimming of the lights, putting Paul into his crib, final nappy change and then lullabies. We also made recommended changes to his naps during the day and used some of the other recommended techniques. Within two weeks he was sleeping through the night most nights with just the odd night where he would just wake once!

Definitely start by creating a good baby sleep routine though and you could find that solves most of your baby sleep problems.

    Good luck!

  6. At 6 weeks, 6 hours...at 3 months 9hours...good luck! Will prob also depend on whether or not you are breastfeeding...I didn't.

  7. here is ruby's sleep history:

birth - 2 months: slept in 3 hour chunks

2-6 months: down for the night between 9 and 10 and slept till 3 (which is technically throught the night). woke at 3 am for a bottle, then went back to sleep till 6. usually at 6 she woke only for another bottle and went back to sleep till 9-9:30

6 months: began waking twice overnight to eat, at midnight and 3 usually.

7 months: started waking 2 or 3 additional times -- in addition to the feeds (we are still co-sleeping at this point)

8-9 months: in addition to her two feeds, she woke EVERY HOUR. all. night. long. just to have me rock her back to sleep. i did this until 9 1/2 months, at which point both she and i were just miserable with sleep deprivation.

9 1/2 months: first i weaned her off overnight feeds. that was easy. one week and she was off. then i started putting her in her crib at night. we used the ferber method. in 2 days she was sleeping 7 pm to 5 am. she slept that amount until one year old, when i finally used ferber for the mornings to get her to sleep until 6 (she was always cranky in the mornings -- she needs 11 hours). now, at 15 months, she sleeps 7 to 6. she almost never wakes during the night. if she does, it's because she needs something -- either a temperature change, a diaper change, attention to a painful tooth, or attention to a flare up in separation anxiety. again, it is very rare. most nights she sleeps the straight eleven hours happily.

she was an extreme case, in terms of growing dependent on the rocking to stay asleep. and from 3-6 months, she slept GREAT. even though it sort of backfired on us, i still recommend co-sleeping. it works GREAT for most. at your son's age, it is totally normal to sleep in 3 hour clips. good luck!

  8. 5 months and 6 months. For my twin girls.

  9. 5 hours at 6 weeks, 8 hours at 11 weeks, 10 hours at 15 weeks.

  10. my baby is almost 8 months and she has JUST started to sleep through the night this week (solids, incidentally, have become a bigger part of her diet this past week as well -- breakfast, lunch & dinner).  She's been getting up once per night since she was about 3 1/2 months old.

  11. 1 month

i attribute it to swaddling, when he was not swaddled he would not sleep.  when he was swaddled he slept like a rock. we swaddled him at night until 4.5 months old.

oh and he has slept in our room in a bassinet then crib from day 1 and still does.

  12. Just under 3 months for my first born....  ONE YEAR for my twin girls!  We were not happy people! : )
