  1. I started giving him sips of water quite young. I think he was only about 6 weeks. I gave him mineral water (unboiled)

His doctor said it's fine to give it as long as it's not too much and not instead of a meal (like he would be fooled like that....lol)

  2. My daughter was about 5 months old because it got really hot where we live.  I buy bottled distilled water for the whole family, and thats what she gets.

  3. my son is nearly 5 months and he has cooled boiled water every now and then. i started to offer it to him when he was 3 months old.

  4. I don't know the specific recommendations, but I started giving my daughter water in a cup at about 8 months. It was more to play around with than actually drink. It took her about a month to get the hang of it. I never worried about the *shoulds.* If she was thirsty, I'd offer her the cup. If she wanted the boob instead, she said so. Well, not "said" exactly, but made her wishes known!

Formula fed babies need water long before breastfed babies do. You give them water whenever they are thirsty in between feeding times.

I only gave her boiled water when I was overseas on a short visit. I figure she's quite used to the local germs. If I was giving water to a baby under 6 months, I think I'd boil it.

  5. my daughter is 1 1/2 months and i give her a tiny bit after she is done eating just to wash it down. and get the white off her tongu. but i dnt substitute it for a bottle of milk or nething during a feeding
