My baby, my 10 year old baby (son) just confessed me that he gets all "clumsy" when he is near this girl he likes at school. It's adorable to see him mistified by this girl. I don't recall falling in love that early myself. I am curious to know when your little one fell in love for the first time.

  1. Mine was 10-11 in 6th grade. All the kids "hung out" together. Sometimes they had sleepover parties. Boys in one room, girls in another. Way too many kids for anything to happen and they all went to school together. They camped together and half the kids are still in touch, 15 years later. They had dances and huge group dates. All the parents were friends and we took turns driving, etc.

  2. I remember having little crushes in pre-school and kindergarten!  I even kissed a boy on the cheek and ran away in kindergarten! ha.  I remember kids "going out" starting in 4th grade in my school.  Going out meant hanging out after school and buying candy for eachother on holidays.  I was so jealous lol.  I don't the kids started kissing their boyfriends/girlfriends until 6th grade.  At 10, going out usually means hanging out, holding hands, and telling everyone that you're boyfriend/girlfriend!

  3. My oldest was 8, my second oldest was 9, my second youngest was 9, and the baby of the lot still doesn't (he's 9). It varies from child to child. My oldest starting "dating" at 12, my second oldest just went on his first "date" at 11, and my second youngest went to the movies with the girl he has a crush on and who has a crush on him, but it was, as he puts it, definately not a "date"....btw, he treated and gave her a gift.

For those of you who are wondering why I allow it....the "dates" consist of going to the movies, drinking from seperate drinks, eating seperate popcorn, and coming back to our house and rough housing. There is no holding hands, hugging, or kissing....not because I say not to, I don't have to....it's still "yucky". LOL....they are so adorable.

  4. Aww that is precious! I love how it puts it as clumsy. My daughter is 7 and just starting to get into boys. She has her first "boyfriend". She has talked about boyfriends since kindergarten but she only meant it as a friend. She didnt quite understand yet. We have good communication though and I think girls will tell you more than boys. Boys tend to be more embarrassed to admit when they start to like girls. Congrats that you have a good enough relationship with him that he feels comfortable to share these new feelings with you. Dont let anyone make him feel bad or tease him for feeling this way. It is natural. Just keep that communication open so when he gets older he will still come to you when it is really important.

  5. Ten seems to be quite young.  In Grade 7 there seems to be a couple of kids who are 'dating'.  It is done more through the parents than the kids as the parents have to drive them to the movies or roller rink.

  6. It's as early as possible... really trust me coz i can still recall it :D

  7. i have no children of my own, which i mean considering i'm only 18 is a good thing. but my little brother is in kindergarten, and he has a girlfriend. and they apparently kiss in the bathroom or something! haha

    he is 5.

but i remember with myself, i started getting crazy crushes in about grade 2. haha

  8. I guess it's an individual thing. My son is 12 and still can't stand girls (or so he says anyway!!) He is quite "youngish" for his age. I think thats so cute about your son! I can't recall but my mum said in year 1 I had a crush on a boy and made her type him a note on her typewriter to give him ( I was to young to read or write!!!!!! LOL )

  9. I'm still a kid. But some of my classmates started liking my other classmates when we were 4. Major crushes that makes you blush, faint and melt, writing his/her name over your notebook kind of thing? My classmates started having those kind of crushes when we were 10. More shocking is, their crushes are in high school! (2-5 years older than them)

  10. HOW CUTEEE!!!!

  11. my son is 11 and said that he   not into girls yet but  they lye sometimes too
