  1. I gave my daughter honey when she was about 3 or 4 months old, she was a very unsettled baby an the only thing that would calm her an make her fall asleep was sucking on her dummy that had a little bit of honey on it.

  3. Stefano was 1 when he had honey cheerios, honey graham crackers, etc. He was 2.5 when he had real honey on toast.

Aaron was 1 when he had honey cheerios/graham crackers. He was almost 3 when he had real honey, because he had a lot of allergies.

Bella was 10 months when she had honey cheerios and honey graham crackers. At 2, she had strawberries dipped in honey.

Aidan had honey products at age 1. He had a honey stick at a fair when he was almost 2.

The first time Cami had honey from us, was when she was almost 3. (She was adopted by us at 2.5)

Nate, Emmi, and Gabi are only 4 months, so never.

  4. Well, I am aware of the risk of botulism in children under 12 months old.  As such, my kids didn't have honey until well after one year old.  Then I introduced it to them in natural yoghurt.

Here is a good link from the world famous Mayo clinic and another one from a homemade baby food web site which I found good.

By the way, corn syrup and molasses should be avoided in babies under one year old for the same reason.

    Best wishes.

  5. Uh this is a strange question. But I was about three when I ate honey.

  6. 3

  7. DONT HAVE A CHILD SAWWY

  8. 1 year.

It wasn't really honey but stuff that had honey in it like graham crackers, honey nut cheerios.  Since then my litle guy  had stuff like honey dip for chicken, honey and peanut butter together on bread.  He does fine with it.

  9. No honey until the child is one year old. Personally, just to be safe, I would wait a few months longer.

Infants are unable to handle the bacterial spores that are sometimes found in honey: Clostridium botulinum which can cause botulism. It is dangerous and can paralyze the baby.

I forgot about it once and gave a honey graham cracker to my grandson. After I realized what I had done, I panicked a bit, but he was fine.

  10. The doctor says not to give your child honey, milk, eggs, shellfish, strawberries, nuts, or peanut butter until they are 1 year old.

  12. im 13 but i have a 20 mo. year old bro and my parents gavee him honey a month or two before he turnd one. but it was home made honeyy cuz my g-pa has a bee farm thing soo yeaa :]

  13. I was 7 when I first had honey and my sister had honey when she was 6.

  14. Early -- less than a year, for sure...but the honey was pasteurized, and there is no history in my family or my partners of bee allergies, so we didn't feel it was any riskier than any other food. She also ate peanut butter around the same time, for the same reasons...

  15. I know 6 months is safe, cause honey is natural, but very little of it, you don`t want your child to get addicted to sweet things too young, it`s bad enough we eventually get addicted to it easily, make it wait if you can help it, I game my kids sweet after their first birthday.

  16. i have never

  17. 3 months, and that was before the whole "you shouldn't give a baby honey thing".

I have raised 3 boys and 1 has Asthma but that is nothing to do with honey. Apart from the Asthma with the youngest they are all health young men.
