  1. If he is climbing out of his crib, now is the time to change. If he is not, you can wait till he is closer to 2 or he starts climbing out.

  2. My son was about 13 mos old he was climbing out of his crib and I didn't want him getting hurt so I put him in the toddler bed with rails and he did wonderfully.. my sister put a baby gate up at her son's door when she put him in a toddler bed so he couldn't roam the house at night

  3. acctually my son who is 2 spent his first night in the bed last night. He never attempted to climb out of his crib so I never pushed the issue. I think when ever you think they are ready

  4. my daughter was 2 years old, and my boy has just gone in to toddler bed this week and he is 16 months reason being he decided to climb out and landed straight onto laminate floor..... not good!!!! boys will be boys so my mum keeps saying!!!! i nearly had a heart attack!!! so it sounds like your boy is like mine!!! a mad head!!! so if i were you i would put him into big boys bed as soon as ( just remember to remove all toys or he will be up playing all night!!! ) i made that mistake on the first night LOL ..... GOOD LUCK

  5. They were both 2.

  6. 13 months

  7. my son is 15 months and we just put him in one this weekend.  we put a safety rail up until he gets used to it so he doesn't fall out.  He is doing well and loves his new bed.

  8. Both of my girls were 15-18 months- We put my oldest in a "big girl bed" for naps only 1st b/c she was uncomfortable w/ it, but by 18 months she was sleeping in it all the time. My youngest transitioned easily- at about 18 months or a little earlier. If he is a climber, then you may want to go ahead and transition him for his own safety so he doesn't try to climb out of his crib.

  9. When your son start climbing out of his crib, then I would suggest switching him. Otherwise, keep him in as long as possible. I didn't switch my son out until 2 1/2. It is a different world when they have the freedom to get in and out of their bed, so beware. It is exciting to switch them into a big boy bed, but it is a LOT more work....
