How old were Sirius Black and Remus Lupin in the 5th book?

They would have had to be born in 1959 or 1960 (based on James Potter's headstone).  Based on some other information taken from interviews with JK Rowling.  The 5th book took place in the 1995-1996 school year.  Also, Sirius, Remus and James were all in the same year at Hogwarts.  Therefore, they would have to be approximately 35 years old at the time.

i agree with the other answerers but you cant write about the characters personally if you want to get published due to copyright infringement so in your story you might want to change the names
