The boys didn't tease me though. We were all terrified then of our (now late) coach, and it worked well for me.

It's such a shame, I love tennis very much.

Unfortunately, I started rather late, at 27. However I havent stopped since and love to be on the court and can last for hours and hours  at a time. I only regret, wished, that I started when younger. As much as I cant stand the heat of the sun during the summer, when I am on the tennis court, it doesnt effect me, strangely.

I had been playing golf since I was about 8 but I had a lot more natural talent in tennis.

The first and best lesson I learned was to not be afraid of making mistakes.

wow.  i first started at age 7 with a little kid volley ball, that my mom bought me from target. I would hit it back and forth with my sister. It wasnt really tennis, but when i actually got my first racket at age 10 i was well ahead of pace. It helped out my eye cordination. Now im 19 and training my 7 year old niece. Time flies.
