I recently asked a question and people were pretty much yelling at me for thinking about taking my 6 day old twins to a reunion in two weeks. However, I've taken them to the store, to friends houses and even to my step-daughter's school to register her.

How old were you're babies when they first went out in public besides coming home?

Thanks.

  1. My eldest was a 2 weeks old and we went to my mums for dinner.

My youngest was about 3 days old, we went shopping. I was never told that they couldn't go out for any certain amount of time. I was fine, they were fine, no big deal

  2. About a week. We took them swimming when they were 2 weeks old.

  3. I haven't had my baby yet, but because my baby will be born in the winter, I plan on taking her out maybe a few weeks after she is born. But as long as the babies are healthy and it is nice out they why not!

  4. Two weeks

  5. My twin daughters were about 3 weeks old the first time I took them out.  We went out to dinner with some family.

  6. i asked my doctor the day i had my son when could i take him outside.. and he told me that when he came out you he was outside.. he said that he could go out when ever i wanted to take him out.. just be carefull if its too hott, dont put him in the sun, to windy cover him up, cold make sure he is warm things like that.. dont let other ppl upset you cause everyone has there own thoughts call and ask your doctor and see what he/she says they are more right then we are.. people have different thoughts bout it and some will say no you cant take them out for 5 months others will say a couple of weeks.. i would just call and ask your doctor..

  7. 6 weeks

  8. I took my babies out when they were about 4 weeks old but not for very long and usually only to relatives. I didn't take them to "public" places such as grocery store etc until they were about 2 months old .I was just a very overprotective mom.

  9. My daughter was 2 weeks or so when we took her out for the first time.

But when a lot of people are present babies act different. Some newborns don't like crowds.

It's up to you to take them or not, they should be fine, but they might react bad to the crowd and start crying none stop

  10. I think it will be fine if everyone that holds them washes their hands first.

    They've already been out.

  11. 3 weeks old.  No one has tried to touch her so far.  She is self contained in her infant seat.

I say..in a light way remind people to wash their hands and have fun.

  12. My oldest son was about 2 or 3 months old when I took him out in the stroller for some fresh air. I either sent someone to the store or had someone sit with him while I went before then. I won't scream at you, but you have 2 babies that are not even 3 months old, why would you want to expose them to so many people and their germs? The 1st couple of months it's OK to take them out to go to the Dr. but other than that it is a good idea to keep them in at least until they turn 3 months. Plus if you are breastfeeding, you have not even established their nursing routine yet, slow down Momma.

  13. If they are perfectly healthy, Why Not!! Just remember to bring shade for them if you are gonna be outside. Ya don't want them out in the sun to much. Bring more diapers, bottles and such. You never you exactly what you will need. Good luck and have fun!!

  14. my daughter went for her first outing around a month old...daddy and I had to go grocery shopping and she came with us...we kept her covered the whole time.

  15. My baby was 5 weeks old when I first went out with him to walmart. I kept him covered up the whole time though with a receiving blanket.

  16. i have a seven week old and i take him out a few times a week. i dont take public transportation with him or anything like that. but its summer and the weather is beautiful, who wants to stay cooped up all day? I take him out for walks and with me to run errands. he loves to be outside, he sits quietly in his stroller or his carrier and looks around. Eventually the rolling motion of his stroller puts him to sleep.

p.s i have been taking him out since he was about a week old

  17. about a week just to my mom's and mom-in-laws for christmas eve and christmas and to my tiny wedding. my son was born in december and ped. said not to take him out really til he was 6weeks because they have no immune system. i'd stay away from malls and busy crowded places like that for at least a month

  18. at 3 days she went to the pediatrician and then we went to a restaurant...
