Fifteen with a learner's permit, and sixteen with full driving rights.  This was the law in my state (Alabama), a decade and a half ago.

16 legally but my father owned an auto repair shop and I used to tow vehicles when I was younger than that.

i started when i was 15 with my permit... it was easier to learn proper driving techniques.. lol
