  1. How old? 20

    How long? 3 months LOL.

How long had we gone out before the engagement? 4 months.

Who knows if there will be wedding bells but don`t rush into anything at your age. You have a lot of life ahead of you.

If you are talking about your future marriage -- where and how you will live etc. -- as much as a wedding -- then chances are good that you will sometime soon be ready to start a life together.

    Best wishes.

  2. I was so very in love with my bf when I was 18.  I loved his parents (we're still all close, my parents are even still their best friends) & everyone thought for sure we would be married.

We went to college, we both had new responsibilities, new experiences, & new priorities.  Our relationship, though very powerful & important to me even today, was not meant for marriage.

I met my now DH when I was 22.  We were married when I was 27.  I have to tell you my priorities are so very different now then when I was 18.

I don't think love is limited by age, but I do think life experiences play a large role in a successful marriage.  I don't think marriage should be an option until after college.  That time in your life is so very important & shapes so much of who you are.  If you can't succeed as a single person, you will not be able to succeed as a couple.

  3. I was nineteen and she was eighteen. I lost her in a car wreck less than a year later.

  4. I was with my very so to be husband  for 4 years. Lived together for 3 years. Got engaged on my 27th birthday. Was in engaged for about 9 months. He was 30 when he ask the big question and 11days after his 31st birthday we will be married! For you I would say take your time and enjoy being young. Maybe travel some. Get a wonderful job that you love. I do know one thing you must love your self be for you can love anyone else. So make know how you are be for making such a big choice in your life! And remember if he loves you he will do the same for him self and everything should work out the way you have always hoped! Good luck with everything that comes your way!

  5. it all depends on the people involved whether wedding bells or not. personally i was 18 when we got engaged we had dated for 6 months but been friends for 5 years or so....... we then got married in 5 months... we just knew.

  6. Me and my bf have been together almost 4 years but sadly no engagement yet :( We're both 24 and started dating when we were 20. Our 4-year anniversary is in two weeks so maybe it will happen then (crosses fingers) We have talked about marriage a lot and our families already consider us as son and daughter in laws.

I hate to say this, but you are only 18 and I would wait a few more years before settling down. Things change a lot in college and if you're still together then, get married. No problem in having a long engagement.

  7. I was 25 and he was 32.

Weve been together for a little over 6 years. (We were together for 5 1/2 years when he proposed).

He proposed in Oct 2007. Were getting married this November so the engagment would be a little over 1 year long.

Your young. You have PLENTY of time! When I was your age I was with my HS sweetheart and I thought we would get married and it didnt work out. Im sooo glad it didnt  1. I learned a lot  2. I would have never met my fiance.

    Good Luck!

  8. 26 and hes 29

  9. I met my now husband when I was 16. We knew each other about 6 months before we "unofficially" got engaged. His mother would introduce me as her future daughter in law as well. We got "officially"got engaged 3 nights before our wedding. I was 18 he was 23 and in 2 months will be our 1st anniversary.

    Congrats.

  10. I was 24, my wife was 22.  We met in college so we were already adults when we started dating.

You have been dating for about how long we were before we got engaged....So who knows...here comes the bride...

  11. I was 25 and he was 31 when we got engaged.

    The engagement was two years.

We were together 2 years when he proposed.

    Good Luck and Congratulations.

  12. My fiance and i have been together for 6 months.

But we have known eachother for 3 years.

We have been Engaged for 2 months.

    I was/am 18.

i think yall have a great start.

    Drop clues for him.

Like talk abt how he and you want the wedding to be like, honeymoon, etc.

  13. Got engaged when we were 21

Getting married in October.......1.5 year engagement

We have been together since we were 16...........6 years.

Yeah there will probably be wedding bells sometime in your future, but you never really know.

  14. My fiance and I started dating when I was 23.  We were good friends for a few years before that.  We expected we would get married from the day we started dating.  Within a few years, we knew that as far as the actual relationship was concerned we were at a point that we were ready to make that commitment, but wanted to focus on moving forward with my education and career first.  We got engaged on my 30th birthday and now I am getting married a little over a year later.

I think 18 is a little young to make that commitment.  I would recommend focusing on your career and education first, and if you feel ready for marriage after that, then go for it.

  15. I got engaged when I was 21. We were together for a year and a half....and we will be together for 2 years when we get married. I think you guys will be married when the time is right. Definitely don't rush into it. Enjoy the time you're spending with each other right now and the time will come! Good luck!

  16. knew each other from 8 years... dated 3... will be engaged a year  when we get married... And im 18... forget the people who say your to young... love has no age... no, it wont be easy... but it will be worth it!

  17. Together a year and 7 months when we got engaged I was 16 he was 17 gonna be 18 when I get married.

  18. I was with my ex for 3 years(age 19-22), but I 'knew' (more like felt) there was really no tangible wedded future for us.... (just a warning)

I met my husband almost 2 years ago, but didn't get to "know" him till June of last year.... We got engaged (We were both 23) August of last year....

We've been 'together' for a year already, and married for 'almost' a year (8/16)

The little voice inside your head knows best, so listen to that.

(If you hear more than one, you might need psychological help) Don't let anyone or anything pressure you into a marriage you're not ready for!

  19. I got engaged when I was 25 years old. We had been dating for almost 3 years.

    I got married at 26...

  20. My husband and I got engaged when we were 21 after dating for 20 months.  We got married at 23 and had been together for a little over three years at that point since we were engaged for 17 months (We both wanted to be done with college, have full-time jobs, and be independent for a year before getting married).

You may get married, who knows?  I dated one guy between the ages of 17 and 20 and was POSITIVE that we would get married, but we ended up breaking up.  And now I am so happy about that!

Make sure to live your life, go to college, live on your own, etc. before getting married.  You're 18...you have plenty of time before you need to start thinking about marriage.

  21. We have known each other for 10 years, been together for 2 years, been living together for 1 year, been engaged for 1 month and 9 days, getting married in 398 days. I'm 22 and he is 23.

  22. I was 19 when I got engaged. I had known him for a little over 2 years, dated for 4 months, got engaged, 15 months later we were married. That was 4 years ago :)

  23. 25 engaged.

    26 married.

Dated and then lived together for 2 1/2 years before we got engaged.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch.  My sis was deep with a guy and the mom did the same thing right up until the day they broke up...

  24. I was 27 when we got engaged, 28 when we got married. We were engaged eight months. We had known one another a year, then dated for two before we got married.

  25. I was 29 he was 25. We've been happily married for 4 years. In my family, it is generally frowned upon to get married young. We are expected more or less to graduate from college and get a start in the world first. (Not saying that marrying young is not good for others). My brother is getting married this year- he is 34 and she is 32.

  26. My fiance proposed on my 19th birthday- I was less than ecstatic.  I feel/felt too young and no one was supportive.  However, I love him, and I know it is right.  We made it a long engagement (11 months).  We get married in 3 weeks from yesterday and we will have been together for 2 years.  I am so excited, but you really should be careful.  Marriage is really hard, and it can be fun, but it is something that should last forever, and it has been hard for me to deal with all of the changes that are going to happen.  People tell me I am too young, and I agree.  But I weighed the pros and cons, and I made the decision that no matter what life throws at me and no matter how much we change or "grow apart", I am never going to stop working at it, and I am going to do everything in my power to not just make it work , but to make it love :) If it is right, its right, and age shouldn't be a barrier, but do keep in mind that 3 years of dating in high school is a lot different than 3 years of dating in college... lots of people marry high school sweethearts, just make sure he will be your sweetheart for everything else as well!  Have some fun, marriage brings responsibility.  Take the time to really figure out your identity and experience some things.  You have so many opportunities at this age that I wish I would have taken advantage of!
