How old were you when you got married for the first time?

I'm just curious as I'm 17 and I'm hoping to be married by the time I'm around 25 or so. Is that a reasonable age nowadays? How old were you?

25. I'm 74 now and still married to the same woman.

Well I was stupid I got married at 16 lasted 5 years..... 2nd marriage I was 25 been married almost 3 years now.

We were both 19 years old when we married.  He was in the Navy and I was planning on moving to New York (from Texas) to be with him and marriage sounded right for us.  Fast forward 7 years later and we're still going on strong.

You mean most people have been married twice or more?  I was 50.  It ended due to his passing.

Wow, what does that say about society when the question is "got married for the first time."  

I was married at 24 and my husband was 28 (we've only been married to each other).  I think I could have waited two more years to finish sowing my wild oats.  To each his own.

I was married once and am still married!  I got married at 25 years old and I think it was the perfect age!  I was able to figure out who I was.  I went to college and served a mission for my church.  By the time I started dating my husband, I was at the point in life where I knew I was ready to settle down and have children.

Been with the same man for years ... we met when we were 18/19.

We are happily married - content, and we make the best of what life brings us.  That doesn't mean we don't have our problems - we do just as every other couple - what it does mean is that we work through our problems.

Live together before you get married - seriously, you won't see the "real" person until you are ... anyone can hide their true self if they only see you a couple times a week or maybe an hour or two a day.  And be completely sure before you take that step - if you have even the tiniest of doubts, wait until you are completely ready.  JMO

Got married 2 weeks after my 20th birthday - had been together for 4 years prior to that and have now been happily married for nearly 4 years!

i think 25 is a good age i was 31 my husband asked me wen i was about 23 but i never wanted 2 get married had  my daughter at 25 then wen i was reaching 30 i decided i did want 2  be married

I ain't married yet but I think 25 is definately a reasonable age. Its not too young and its not too old for a person. Its right there in the middle of everything. If for some miraculous reason I do get married, I would like to be married when I'm around 26.

20 I eloped because my parents won't give us permission to get married. Big mistake. it last three miserable years.

I'm getting married in September of this year and I'm 23 yrs. old but my fiance is 32 yrs old and this is both our first marriage.
