How old were you when you got your first rat?

Well I never had a rat and I'm sorry if this isn't an answer you wanted.

I got my first mouse when I was 11 though.

Really cute and active, fun to watch, but not that great with handling/cuddling.

I would love to get a pet rat but I doubt my parents will let me, which is why I want a hamster.

I was eighteen. She was my first pet in my new apartment. I went to get something else but fell in love with her instead. She got a tumor and died and I got two more at (let's see...) 23. Then they both got tumors and died too. I guess I now know why they use rats in cancer research...

I had my first rat when I was 15 I believe. Of course you should always get two though as they're social.

14 or mayb 15 :S hehe. i forget too easiley. i am 15 now and these r my first ones. they r the best animals ever. i wouldnt change them 4 the world :)

Let's see... I think I was 15 years old when I got Howie (my first rat). My dad kept saying 'no', and then I encountered a ''Free to good home'' rat, so I took him. :)

Eleven, though it wasn't a rat.  it was a mouse, which is basically a smaller version of a rat.

I was about 13 when I got my first rat. I had wanted one for as long as I could remember.It was really lucky how I came across her.My mom had called PetSmart asking if they had any but they said they were all out. I  put up a huge fight though because we were two blocks away and I wanted to stop just in case lol.They didn't have any for sale, but it turned out that half an hour ago, one had been brought in for adoption.She had been owned by one of the ladies that worked there but she found out she was alergic to them.Her name was Yin, I had her for about 2 1/2 years, she was a bit over one when I got her.

I was 12 and my  sister was 10. We got dumbo rats and love them!!!!
