How old will my robin be before he or she loses the black spots on their chest?

I have had him for 67 days already and he still has spots

It should take about a year and a half for your bird to come to it's mature colors. I noticed your not sure what the s*x is. Male robins have that dark head to go with their beautiful color. Female have a more washed out look.
