  1. I suppose that it all depends on whom you go through to get a Debit card. I had mine at 16 yrs old, my mom cosigned it for me though so both names showed on the account, and that was through a credit union. Check with local banks, and if you don't want to go in person or are not really able to, check out their websites and contact customer service. =)


  2. a debit card is usually 18, but u can get a solo or switch card earlier and it works the same way and can be used in most shops

  3. My grandaughter is 12 and has a DEBIT card with Abbey National.

    I don't know the exact answer to this but my daughter has had one since she was 13 so that should be a good guide.

    Best bet is to go to their web site and read. There must be a lower age limit (I guess) but as you can only spend the money you have in the account, it is not much different to having an ATM card so I don't think you will have a problem.

  6. SIXTEEEN! I got mine at 16! Credit card you gotta be 18, but Debit is 16, cos you only use the money you have. x
