How old would I have to be to get a job as a dish washer at a restaurant?

  1. There are labor laws, the federal government has laws, but most states have stricter laws. I'm not sure what state you are in, but in TN the only job you can really get if you are under 16 is in grocery stores.  


  2. 16 unless you have a work permit.

  3. 15.5 is ok for most places during the summer but it can be hard during the school year. The  thing is you will be limited to when you can work depending on the state and if school is in session(regardless of whether you are in school).  Under 16 and you can only work three hours a day and 18 hours a week.

    It will be a lot easier when you turn 16

  4. You need to be 14.

  5. For that type of work you only need to be 14 by federal law.  I dont know your state so it might be different.  The federal goverment set up minimum labor requirments.  If the state is more strict you take the most strict of the two options.
