  2. Your parents can open one for you from any age.

You can open your own at 16

    You're pretty....can I have best answer

  3. I had the same question a few years ago...

My bank told me I have to be 18. They said that's only because a lot of kids have no idea how to handle a checking account on their own and often overdraw, requiring parents to be able to have access to some of the money handling.

My answerers told me the same thing, most of them, anyway. One contacted a bank and they said it was possible under the right circumstances. Only certain banks might do that.

  4. You have to be 18 to open your own account in the US (basically a legal adult).  However, your parents can open an account for you when you are younger than that.  Often, however, you cannot touch the account until you're 18.

  5. In the UK Abbey has a bank account especially for kids aged 11 - 16. It comes with a cash card but no overdraft or cheque facility. Can be in the child's name. 6% interest on balances up to £500.00

  6. Your parents can open one for you from any age.

You can open your own at 16

...This is how it is here in England
