  1. It depends where the earthquake is. The US Geological Survey keeps detailed records of US earthquakes and fault lines, and less detailed info on overseas one.

    If the earthquake was in the UK check the British Geological Survey website. The BGS keeps up to date info on all UK seismic activity, the magnitude, severity, location and depth, maps of fault lines in the UK etc. No major UK earthquake has occurred for some time, though a 5.4 in Market Rasen was felt in most of the country a few months ago, and Market Rasen has been the centre of many minor tremors since that initial one.

    There was one higher than a 5.0 in Folkestone a few years ago, causing minor structural damage, and damage to cliff faces.

    No one has died as a result of an earthquake in the UK for over 200 years.
