Question:

How or where to repair/replace cracked plasma screen?

I was messing around in my living room with friends and smacked our pretty new 42" Samsung plasma TV. About a silver dollar sized bullet-hole type crack radiates out a few inches from the far left side and is affecting the entire screen. I was wondering if anyone knew if it could be repaired, and if not how I can get a replacement plasma screen and how much they cost.

  1. Assuming you have a warranty, your TV may not be covered under the circumstances - but you should give Samsung a ring and see. You could maybe tell a little "white lie" and say it cracked when you were cleaning it. This way, it should still be covered by the warranty and will be repaired free of charge.

If you don't have a warranty, flip through the phone book and ring up a few TV repair places. Try and find the cheapest. It will cost a few hundred dollars to get the screen replaced/fixed.

    Good luck, mate.

  2. My husband has been an authorized samsung repairman for years now.  Cracked screens are considered physical damage, no matter what.  It sucks actually, because the screen usually cost as much as a new TV.

You can call around, but its pretty much trash now.
