How or why does my stove keep shocking me?

every time i cook oatmeal with the eye on hi, im stirring in my oats with a metal spoon in a metal pot. when i go to turn the k**b from hi to med i get shocked and i feel t in both hands but mostly just the one turning the k**b. this only happens when the eye is really hot, once its at medium heat it wont do it. is my stove poorly grounded or what? whats going on?

Does ur stove have a clock? if so...is NOT properly ground connect it. Unplug the stove's electrical wire n removed ur stove 4 any tight space n check the back 4 lose wires (u might need 2 open back panel 2 c what's going on there; if u c a GREEN wire lose, that will b the problem..tight it up n whallaaa).

Good luck. If u cannot reach the stove's wire, go 2 ur fuse box n turn OFF the power of the kitchen.

If your stove was properly grounded, it wouldn't shock you.  If you have an electric leak--like a hot wire exposed or something, a proper ground would short the leak out and trip your breaker rather than electrocuting you.  If it's a high-resistance leak, then the ground would just redirect the current until the leak gets bad enough to trip it.  A short circuit may be exacerbated by heat expansion when your stovetop is really hot, or it may be a leak on the neutral end that's always there but only when your stove is on high the current through the neutral is high enough to induce a voltage due to the downstream resistance.  

In any case, I would take that as a very dangerous sign and either get your stove checked out immediately by an electrician, or get a new stove (and check your outlet to see that it's grounded).  Even if you have a bad ground, you still have a problem in the stove.  It's not worth getting killed over.  It can get worse, and it can get worse in a hurry and it'll be too late to fix it after you die.
