Mine didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. I heard horror stories from other people. It bleed a lot though. But overall, it wasn't bad at all. Usually it takes about 6 months to heal, depends on how healthy of a person you are. You gotta keep it clean and take real good care not to bump it. Mine did end up getting a little bit infected (I dyed my hair...stupid I know) but it ended up healing fine after that. Go for it and good luck!
