Please describe in detail. I'm having a baby in one months time and I really want some honest, nitty, gritty detail not all that rubbish they give you in leaflets at the clinic. Thank you so much!

  1. yes but you forget it when they put your new baby in your arms

  2. pregnancy is not painful...if you mean delivery...it sucks!! it feels like bad bad cramping and it feels like your insides are coming out (which technically i guess they are lol) =) and when the baby is actually coming out you just wanna die =) BUT...coming from me i had a 9lb 5oz baby so i dont know what its like for the normal 6-7 pounders =) just remember once its over its over! and you'll do just fine and it will be very worth it!! good luck!!

  3. Terribly, terribly painful.  However, the most painful part only lasts a few minutes.  The joy of being a mother far outweighs the few minutes of torture.

  4. Do you mean labour? How painful is labour? or pregnancy?

  5. pregnancy isnt particulaly painful, its the labour u gotta worry about.

but once baby is born u forget all about the pain.

u cannot get a proper answer cos for everyone its different, and different people and different pain relief.

    good luck

  6. Hi

Here is my experience of labour..........(be prepared!).....

Something made me wake up at 4am. I lay in bed for a moment then stood up, my waters suddenly broke. It just felt like when you first come on your period only alot heavier.

The contractions started about 2 hrs later at 6am, they just felt like very mild period pain across my abdomen. They gradually got stronger and stronger and the pain started to come in my lower back and bum near the end lol!

At the start I thought "is this it?" but I lived to regret that thought a few hours on!......

I could just about handle the contractions without the need for drugs. I was walking around the room on tip toes, but after a while it made me become tearful, emotional and a bit scared of what was still to come.......

Once I was fully dilated my baby's head suddenly dropped into my birth canal - That part was weird!! it made me feel as though suddenly my insides had fallen out, and it friggin killed, and I shouted out - its coming!!!

    Sorry but it gets worse!......

I then got this urge to push, there was nothing I could do to stop it and my whole body took over and made me push using every ounce of strength I had....

When the head started to crown it burnt like mad.

As his head was coming out the only way I can describe how it felt is to imagine that someone has a foot and a hand inside of you and that they are trying to tear you in half with all of their strength - that's how it felt!!!!

It was the worst pain imaginable and I actually felt like I couldn't handle it anymore and that I was going to die!

I imagine it's how you would feel if you were being tortured!

The only thing you can do to make it all better is to get your baby out as quickly as possible.

Even though every time I pushed it hurt really bad - I kept pushing to get it over and done with!

When you are pushing it kind of feels as though you are doing a poo - because you sort of push using your bum!?

Once my baby was out it was such a relief.

The whole experience was very strange. I just switched off and went into my own little world.

Everyone's voices were muffled and my instincts just completely took over.

For weeks afterwards I kept re living the whole experience over and over again in my mind.

I will probably get the thumbs down for my answer because I have made it sound really bad - but this is exactly how it was for me.

I was very unlucky because I ended up with a 3rd degree tear which means I tore through muscle aswell as tissue. I had no pain relief either so I could actually feel it tearing down there when it happened, and I can still remember how that felt!

I had to go down to theatre to be stitched back up again by a surgeon. They were very understaffed that day so they just left me sat in my blood for 5 hours before I eventually went down. I was given a spinal for the surgery.

A few days after I just broke down and could not stop crying, but it's not suprising really.

I had my baby 5 months ago now and I can finally laugh about it with my friends!!

I'm only small: 5'3" and 7.5 stone and my baby was 9 pounds so it was not suprising I tore really.

My baby is so good. He is a very happy and contented baby who never cries, he sleeps well at night and is the best baby anyone could wish for - so he makes up for all the bad experience I had with my labour.

I was one of the unlucky ones but I have known some people who actually enjoyed the experience! (I really cant understand it myself!)

I enjoyed every part of being pregnant though (well, not the morning sickness!)

Just remember to go into hospital with an open mind - I wish I had some pain relief but I told them I didn't want any to begin with, then when I did want it, it was too late!

Hopefully you wont experience what I did.

    Good Luck.

If you want to know more there are loads of birth videos on youtube which are very graffic!

  7. uh yeah it hurts pretty dang bad. but it also depends on your pain thresh hold. if you handle pain goo labor won't be as bad for you.but
