Many people who boxed Lewis commented on how strong he was in the ring. Did they mean in terms of his punching power or just general physical strength?

  1. Lennox Lewis is VERY underrated.  He is Quite strong.   He's probably the strongest man to ever hold the title.   He MANHANDLED  Every BIG Man he ever fought.   See how he just ran THROUGH Michael Grant?

Because he's not from the US,  many dont want to give him credit.   I doubt you can give me more than 5 champions who would beat him.

Lewis' punching power is among the best in the division.  Because he was not a very aggressive fighter he is often not given credit for his power.   However,  when he chose to use it, he could hurt you.    In terms of PURE power,   Perhaps ONLY  George Forman clearly punched harder.

Joe Louis was a BETTER puncher.   He was powerful but he was also a better technical puncher.   He got more out of the power he had than other fighters.

Both Forman and Lewis punch harder but didnt always use their power in the most effective way.    Joe Louis was FAR and AWAY better than EVERYONE in this catagory.

Dempsey and Marciano were also big punchers.   However,  Lennox out-weighted both by about 55 pounds.   He was very lean so you cant attribute the size difference to fat.

In terms of power,  FEW were more powerful.   In terms of Strength,   I dont think anyone was stronger than Lennox  Lewis.

  2. i think their saying he has both physical and decent punch power
