Ok here is the deal. I have been off the pill now for a couple of months. My first day of my last period was Aug 3rd. I have had had s*x the 14th 15th 16th 17th 18th. All of which my bf ejaculated inside of me (tmi). according to the ovulation calculator i should have started ovulating the 13th. On the 18th i noticed a egg white type of discharge with some very light red in it and only when i wiped, it was only that one instance to the bathroom. Today is the 19th and i have noticed very light brownish pinkish color when i wipe, it is very faint. Is it possible for this to be implantation bleeding?

  1. yes it could be. Implantation typically occurs at about 6 days after fertilization. In a 28-day cycle, ovulation occurs on the fourteenth day following the beginning of a period. In women who do not have 28-day cycles, ovulation occurs 14 days prior to the beginning of a period. In women with irregular cycles who become pregnant, it can be difficult to pinpoint when ovulation took place. Once fertilization occurs, the fertilized egg remains in the fallopian tube for 3 days. It then enters the uterus where it gets very close to the endometrium (lining of the uterus) and begins to invade this endometrium to implant. This is usually a very gentle process. Some women do have slight bleeding at the time of their missed period, but that is after implantation.Approximately one in four pregnant women will have some bleeding early in pregnancy. Of these, half will result in a miscarriage. Bleeding in pregnancy, regardless of how slight, should never be considered a normal event. A pregnant woman with bleeding should contact her doctor. A progesterone level can be checked; and, if it is low, progesterone supplementation can be implemented. However, sometimes a low progesterone level is a signal that it is not a viable pregnancy. If this is the case, progesterone suppementation will not alter the outcome of the pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy can also cause early bleeding. This is when implantation occurs somewhere other than the uterus (usually the fallopian tube), and is a potentially dangerous condition. This can be evaluated by bloodwork and ultrasound. HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is the pregnancy hormone and levels can be followed to determine if they are increasing appropriately. At about six and a half weeks following the last menstrual period, an ultrasound can be done to look for evidence of fetal heart tones in the uterus. A live fetus in the uterus decreases the likelihood of a miscarriage.

  2. If you have a regular 28 day cycle and your last menstrual period was August 3rd, then generally you would have been ovulating anywhere from the Aug 12th to Aug 17th. If you conceive, implantation would occur any where from 6 to 14 days later. Most women do not experience implantation bleeding, but a handful of women do. The bleeding consists of a light spotting... So YES it is VERY possible what you are experiencing is implantation bleeding.

My advice would be if you are TTC is to wait to test, I know you are very anxious to know, but it is very disappointing getting a negative test result. Wait to the day of you expected period and take a DIGITAL EPT pregnancy test.
